Go Work! And Leave The Play To Us.
An Intrinsically Motivated environment. It is so much harder create and so much more rewarding to have. This video a few years old and the book came out in April of 2011. Dan Pink’s Drive
I wish I would have been able to read this book 11.5 years ago when redpepper started. We have always felt this way and have always tried to have an intrinsically motivated environment in our work lives. This is defined as one where we are motivated by the process and the act of the job, rather than the outcome or the payment of the job.
Now, we are going take this to another level. One that really shows us and the outside world what can happen when a group of inspired people set out to do things they consider play. Sure, our rplab shows this to a degree…but that has come in bursts and has not included our full capabilities.
This video is an 18 minute TED talk by Drive’s author Dan Pink. If this video inspires you at all, buy the book today, read it tonight and change the world tomorrow. Ok, maybe you could start with your company.
