Tailgating at a SemiFormal Gala? Yes, We Did.
Recently, our (redpepper’s) very own Matt Reed (aka mcreed), was nominated by the Technology Council of Nashville for innovator of the year (Matt, congrats.. we are all proud). Since we couldn’t get enough tickets to go and support him at the awards dinner, we decided to tailgate at the event instead…. yep, I said tailgate. We called it a Reedpepper Rally.
So, if you’ve never tailgated at a semi-formal awards event, you should totally do it. We spent time playing baseball, soccer, talking, making new friends and well, all the other things you might do when tailgating.

As Matt and his wife Lynn came out they were greeted with cheers + flashes from their very own paparazzi and fanclub. We decided to do something unique to create a vivid experience. So, as Matt and Lynn went back to the entrance to get their car from the valet we all made our way to the red carpet to get some photos. It only took us about 4 mins. to get kicked off the red carpet and we moved on to have fun somewhere else.
I can say that tailgating outside the Nashville Schermerhorn Symphony Center and getting kicked off the redcarpet were two things that will remain in my memory as a vivid and unique experience for a long time. Fun times, my friends… fun times.
